Membership is free, but there is a cost
Membership is free and members can access many elements of our programs at no cost.
But nothing is truly free. There are costs. Somebody has to cover the costs.
Members are asked to donate when they can and help with fundraisers.
We also seek grants from grantmakers to help us build a system to address the needs of our communities.
Cornerstone was created as a Community Development Corporation. A community Development Corporation (C. D. C.) is a not-for-profit organization, incorporated to provide programs, offer services and engage in other activities that promote and support community development. CDC’s usually serve a geographic location such as a neighborhood or a town. They often focus on serving lower-income residents or struggling neighborhoods. They can be involved in a variety of activities including economic development, education, community organizing and real estate development.
